Today we are going to share with you some Amazon tips to help you save as much money as possible when shopping on this platform.

Over time, Amazon has become a staple because it is very convenient and has a huge selection of products.

There are quite a few ways to save money on Amazon, and there are sure to be some you don't know yet! Let's take a closer look.

1. Add to cart, but don't buy right away

Add the items you want to your cart, but do not confirm the purchase. After a few days, you will receive a reminder email from Amazon notifying you that you have items in your cart, and asking you to complete your purchase.

This is more commonly called "cart abandonment".

Amazon, like most businesses, wants you to buy. And to entice you to do so, they can send you discounts that only people who have abandoned their cart receive.

So if you don't mind the wait, it's worth the cost!

2. The colors of the products

You may not have noticed it, but items that are available in multiple colors sometimes have a different price depending on the color.

If you don't care about the color of the item, sometimes you can save up to 10%.

3. Get a refund if the price of the product changes

Amazon regularly changes the prices of its products, and if the price of something you have purchased changes, you are entitled to a refund of the difference.

Just send an email explaining the situation to them. But this only applies to items sold and shipped by Amazon.

4. Win an Amazon gift card for free

There are a lot of sites that pay you to watch videos, trailers, shop, sign up for sites…

It's free and it allows you to convert your earnings into prizes such as Amazon gift cards. One of the most famous sites is called Swagbucks.

5. Save 1 month on Amazon Prime if your package is late

If you go through Amazon Prime, but you don't receive your package within 2 days, contact Amazon customer service. Usually, they give you a month for free.

6. Be notified of price drops

Sometimes (or all the time) we are interested in a product, but it is a bit too expensive. And we say to ourselves, if the price drops, I'll take it! The thing is, you can't stay staring at your computer every day.

Just set an alert on the product, and you'll be notified if the price drops. There are other price trackers, such as keepa or shoptimate. Make your choice !

7. Pre-order for free delivery

Amazon's program requires you to spend at least $ 25 to get free shipping.

All you need to do is pre-order something, say a game or movie that hasn't been released yet, to hit the $ 25 limit. You will not be charged for the pre-ordered item until it ships.

And if you change your mind and cancel the pre-order, you won't be charged for that item or the shipping costs.

8. Make money if your friends or relatives buy from Amazon

Like many companies, Amazon has an affiliate program known as Amazon Associates.

This means that you can become an affiliate and provide links to Amazon products. And if someone uses your link and purchases a product, you get a commission.

All you need to become an affiliate is a website to post your links.

You cannot do this yourself, as it is against Amazon's rules to buy products through its own links and collect the commission.

But if you have a friend interested in doing the same, you can buy through your respective links and earn around 8% commission on each product.

9. Before buying, open your browser in incognito mode

If you have subscribed to the Amazon Prime offer, Amazon can be a bit of a misleading with you. It is known to inflate product prices to offset two-day shipping costs.

To avoid this, open one of your 2 internet pages in private browsing mode. On the first page, log into your Prime account and find the product you want, then take note of the price.

On the second page, check the price of the same product (you don't have to be logged in). If the price is lower than the first page, add the item to your cart, then sign in to your account before purchasing - the price should not change.

10. Problems with the product?

If your product is damaged or broken then you should contact Amazon customer service.

Usually, they'll send you back a new product right away. Even better, if the item costs less than $ 50, from the cool things to buy on amazon under $50 list, you can keep it at no additional cost, rather than sending it back.

Note, however, that this is Amazon's policy, and only applies to items sold by Amazon.

11. Amazon doesn't always give you the best price

You should know that Amazon doesn't always show you the best price right away.

For example, if you are specific in your search, Amazon understands that you are there to buy, and the algorithm directs you to the more expensive products.

What to do ? The trick is to look under “Customers Also Bought This Item”, or do less specific research. Quite often you will find the same item at a lower price, available from a third party seller.

The other thing I have noticed is that it works great on renewed products. Let's say you are buying Macbooks under $500, surely you can get renewed ones. In that case, you can save tons of money on Amazon.
